TAPANULI SELATAN, Bundaran SkyNews – In a dedicated effort to ensure public safety and foster community welfare, personnel from Batalyon C Pelopor Sat Brimob Polda Sumut directly inspected the structural condition of a critical suspension bridge in Bombong Village, South Angkola District, Tapanuli Selatan (Tapsel) Regency.
The field inspection was conducted to assess the bridge’s feasibility and safety standards. The suspension bridge serves as a vital infrastructure link, connecting remote rural communities and facilitating daily access for residents in the surrounding area.
During the assessment, officers carefully examined every major component of the bridge structure, including the steel cables, wooden planks, and supporting anchors, to identify potential decay, structural wear, or damage caused by environmental factors.
Beyond checking physical infrastructure, the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers engaged in dialogue with local residents to hear their concerns directly and gather valuable input regarding daily transportation challenges and safety hazards in the remote village.
The proactive step taken by Batalyon C Pelopor Sat Brimob Polda Sumut reflects the police force’s commitment to community policing and disaster prevention, ensuring that public infrastructure remains safe for pedestrians and local motorized transport.
Suspension bridges across rural parts of North Sumatra, particularly in mountainous regions like Tapanuli Selatan, serve as primary lifelines for agricultural logistics, school children, and medical access. Many of these structures face continuous wear due to high rainfall, river overflow, and heavy daily usage over extended years.
